Biography
Originally from Manitowoc, I earned my B.A. from UW-Superior and my Masters in Information & Library Science from the University of Michigan. I've worked in over five public libraries around the state and have been at the Fond du Lac Public Library since 2005. I am passionate about sharing all of the great benefits libraries have to offer with community members! For example, did you know that all Wisconsin residents have FREE access to thousands of e-books, e-audiobooks, and e-magazines through Libby? Or that Wisconsin residents have FREE access to Consumer Reports, online car repair manuals and thousands of other resources through Badgerlink? At the Fond du Lac Public Library, we have computer projectors, bike locks, cake pans, knitting needles, board games, outdoor games, and hundreds of activity kits for people of all ages--and, yes, we have books, dvds, streaming movies, magazines, and audiobooks too! And, it is ALL FREE.
I am a firm believer that women can change the world. I am a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Chapter K which raises scholarship funds for women, including high school girls in Fond du Lac County and beyond. I am also a long standing member of the women's Fond du Lac Round Table discussion group which meets five times per year to promote friendship and fun through food and learning.
I have been a member of the Fond du Lac Chapter of Women in Management/Professional Women's Connection since 2010. I have served in various leadership roles and was voted Manager of the Year in 2014.
